ALWAGHT- The foreign ministers of Iran and Qatar emphasized the importance of maintaining Yemen’s territorial integrity and national unity as clashes intensify in the south.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed regional developments in a phone call, with a focus on escalating tensions in Yemen and ongoing crises in Palestine and Lebanon.
In Yemen, fighting intensified after UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council forces took control of Hadramout and expanded into al-Mahrah, prompting Saudi airstrikes on STC positions. The developments highlight growing Saudi-Emirati rivalry over influence, resources, and strategic ports in the country.
The ministers also condemned continued Israeli attacks in Palestine and Lebanon, calling for international pressure on Israel to protect civilians and comply with ceasefire agreements.
