ALWAGHT- The US envoy to Israel said it would be acceptable if Israel expands across West Asia under the ‘Greater Israel’ plan.
Mike Huckabee, the US envoy to Israel, said it would be “fine” for Israel to take all of West Asia during an interview with Tucker Carlson. Responding to a question about Israel’s territorial ambitions under the biblical “Promised Land” concept, Huckabee argued that such expansion would be acceptable, framing it within a religious interpretation tied to Abrahamic lineage.
Huckabee, appointed by Donald Trump, later softened his stance by claiming Israel is not actively seeking regional domination. He suggested, however, that if Israel were attacked and subsequently seized territory through war, that outcome would warrant a separate discussion. The remarks surprised Carlson and drew attention due to their apparent endorsement of extreme territorial expansion.
Israeli leaders have increasingly echoed similar views. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly embraced the idea of a “Greater Israel,” calling it a historic and spiritual mission. Meanwhile, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has advocated ending the Oslo Accords and promoting Palestinian displacement, intensifying international concern over Israel’s expansionist rhetoric and policies.
