ALWAGHT- Hezbollah MP Rami Abu Hamdan and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun denounce Friday’s Israeli airstrikes in the Bekaa Valley.
On Friday evening, Israeli strikes in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley and the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in Saida killed 12 people and injured dozens, including children, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. The attacks prompted widespread condemnation from Lebanese officials and political groups, who described them as violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty and UN Resolution 1701.
Hezbollah MP Rami Abu Hamdan called the Bekaa strikes a massacre and criticized the Lebanese authorities for their ineffective response. He urged a radical shift in government policy, warning against normalizing Israeli aggression and demanding swift, decisive action to defend Lebanese lives and territory. Abu Hamdan emphasized the resilience of the people affected and reaffirmed Israel as “the eternal enemy” whose defeat is inevitable.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the attacks as hostile acts aimed at undermining Lebanon’s diplomatic efforts, particularly with the United States, to stabilize the region. He called on countries supporting regional stability to act immediately to halt the strikes, enforce international resolutions, and protect Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
