US Attack on Sirik Wedding Marks “Moral Decline,” Iran Says

ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said the US attack on a wedding ceremony in the Kouhestak area of Sirik Island constitutes a war crime and reflects what he described as Washington’s “moral decline.”

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei condemned the US strike on a wedding ceremony in southern Iran’s Sirik on Tuesday night, saying the attack killed and wounded around 70 people, including women and children. In a post on X, he argued that the incident exposed what he described as the reality of Washington’s “illegal war” against Iran.

Baghaei said the bombing of the wedding was carried out in what he called a “desperate attempt” to conceal US military failures, contrasting the attack with what he described as AI-generated footage portraying American officials as “moral and victorious heroes.”

He also invoked American author Tim O’Brien’s The Things They Carried, quoting the line that a true story about war is never moral and warning readers not to believe stories that appear to offer a simple moral message.
