ALWAGHT- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says growing US pressure and military activity across West Asia have prompted greater cooperation among Muslim nations.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said continued high-level contacts between Iran and Pakistan demonstrate growing cooperation among Muslim countries amid increased US involvement in the region. He made the remarks during a meeting with visiting Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Tehran.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations, with Iranian and Pakistani officials reportedly saying that discussions on a potential Iran-US peace agreement were not on the agenda. Reports had suggested Naqvi could be carrying messages from Washington, but the Iranian presidency’s readout did not mention any mediation efforts.
Pezeshkian described Iran and Pakistan as powerful regional countries with significant human and natural resources, saying closer cooperation could help both meet their needs through domestic and regional capabilities. Naqvi said bilateral ties were at an unprecedented level and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Iran.
